Content

The cost of battery storage systems has been falling rapidly for years - this opens up numerous opportunities for new market segments. The seminar maps the current market opportunities for stationary storage systems (storage) and provides comprehensive background knowledge on ongoing technical developments.
Lithium-ion batteries with their performance and safety characteristics, development potential, and system requirements will be discussed in detail. In addition, both classic storage technologies such as lead-acid batteries or pumped storage power plants and innovative developments such as redox-flow and high-temperature batteries will be considered for comparison.
The seminar covers the entire value chain of storage systems "from the cell to the application". There will be practical discussions on battery management systems, pack design and thermal management as well as optimal storage dimensioning and economics after the EEG amendment.

On the topic

Storage systems / storage technologies will play a key role in future power grids. Falling battery storage prices will ensure in just a few years that a local supply with photovoltaic systems and home storage in Germany will be cheaper than purchasing grid electricity. Already today, battery storage systems are taking over more and more of the classic system services, especially frequency containment reserve. Lithium-ion storage systems are of great importance for system energy service in power grids. Finally, due to the increasing share of electric vehicles in Germany, enormous storage capacities will soon be available in vehicle batteries (electric cars), which can be used for innovative business areas. The topic of energy remains exciting and grid operators will increasingly have to deal with it.

In all cases, affected companies must act early to turn this change to their advantage.
