Development of a management system for stationary battery storage system for intelligent usage of storage capacity and optimized life time
Stationary battery storage systems will play an important role in future energy grids with a significant share of renewables. The project aims at optimizing lead-acid battery strings for uninterruptable power supply (UPS) systems by constantly monitoring their state of aging and optimizing the operating strategy. A special string diagnostic unit is developed in the project which supervises each string of the system by means of hardware and software. Diagnostic functions make use of the measured impedance values and correlate the values to states of aging.
