Abstract

With reference to the future changes in energy generation in Germany, there is an increased technical need for flexible supply concepts. For a successful integration of new energy concepts, their economic efficiency is a decisive factor. In order to ensure the basics of the best possible profitability already in the planning and design phase, a hybrid storage system model was developed and scientifically examined in this thesis. Different technologies were combined based on the modular structure of the model. A lithium-ion and a lead battery system as well as a power-to-heat and a hydrogen generation unit were analyzed in detail. Furthermore, intelligent operating concepts were developed for the respective combinations. These take into account the differing technological characteristics, whereby a positive influence on the profitability could be achieved. In addition, the technologies were optimized in terms of their size. An essential prerequisite for the design of the hybrid model was the application in multi-use operation based on current market conditions.
