Prof. Müller-Hellmann receives the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class
Prime Minister Armin Laschet presented the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany to five committed citizens of North Rhine-Westphalia at a ceremony on 31 October 2019.
Prof. Adolf Müller-Hellmann has been honoured for his many years of honorary commitment to business and science. He has been an integral part of the scientific landscape in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1993. In addition, he has been committed to improving local public transport for decades. His professional career has also been marked by this goal. From 1982 to 2008, he was a member of the Association of German Transport Operators (Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmer e.V.) and until 2015 he chaired the Forum for Transport and Logistics (Forum für Verkehr und Logistik e.V.). Professor Müller-Hellmann is particularly distinguished by his commitment to European and environmentally compatible solutions long before the current sustainability debate.
As a graduate of the ISEA, Prof. Müller-Hellmann has been closely associated with the institute throughout his life and, as honorary professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, has been lecturing at the ISEA for many decades on the topics of "Electric Local Transport Systems", "Electric Railway Drives" and "Energy from Renewables".
The ISEA staff are very happy about this well-deserved award.
