"This honor means a lot to us," Sauer said, "because we are stepping up to change things with our research." Technologies, according to the chair and head of Europe's largest research group for battery systems, must be brought into the economy. It is precisely this achievement that has now been honored, with the jury stating: "The "innovation2business" award category honors individuals who have developed a successful business model from outstanding ideas for product or process innovations." The award in this category is always given to a tandem of entrepreneurial personality and innovator. The category is endowed with 50,000 euros, the prize money is earmarked for research purposes.
