Research group power electronics

Power electronics comprehends the control, the low-loss conversion and the switching of electrical energy. Today it is one of the key technologies for the implementation of various technical applications. In addition to the actual converters, power electronics cover the necessary controls including communication interfaces as well as the system-oriented integration. The research activities at ISEA aim at analytic investigations of power electronic systems. This includes the use of simulation techniques for the assemblage and analysis of test systems. Most of these research activities are carried out in close cooperation with partners from all major industries.

ISEA’s power electronics group activities comprise research topics such as:

  • Renewable Energies
  • Power Quality
  • Electric Mobility
  • High-Temperature Electronics
  • Driver Integration for High-Power Semiconductors
  • High-Frequency Transformers for Medium-Voltage Applications
  • Contactless Energy Transmission
  • Inductive Heating

We are currently working on the detailed description of our research topics and projects. Until completion, please refer to our annual report.
